VVDN, Xilinx, and VIAVI partnered together to develop an O-DU solution.
The scenario demonstrates VVDN developing O-RAN O-DU Fronthaul solution on Xilinx based FPGA NIC card. VVDN Fronthaul testing of O-DU sub-system (CUS-plane) is done by using VIAVI O-RU emulator. A selection of tests demonstrates S-Plane PTP master validation and interoperability of the O-RAN Fronthaul interface. Validated Control and User Plane messages are transmitted by the O-DU and decoded correctly by the O-RU.
The tests successfully demonstrated the interoperability/interworking of flexible Fronthaul for O-DU:
• Full bandwidth testing of CU plane
• Test and plot IQ data spectrum for different bandwidths
Demonstrated IEEE1588 PTP Master validation:
• CU plane validation with and without PTP sync
