Test scenarios introduction

Altran has participated in O-RAN India Plug Fest event to showcase the O-RAN specification based open X2 interface between MeNB and gNB. The scenario demonstrated Altran gNB based on x86 platform, which supports the O-RAN specification based X2 interface and has the ability of inter-operating with other vendors MeNB component.

Testing Results/Summary

  • Scenario 2, U-Plane test

Altran complied to the O-RAN defined X2 interface between MeNB and SgNB and successfully demonstrated the ENDC X2 Setup and SgNB Addition procedure:

MeNB initiated ENDC X2 Setup

SgNB initiated ENDC X2 Setup

SgNB UE Addition to create 3x bearer type at SgNB

SgNB UE Release procedure

Further as part of its roadmap, Altran will continue to focus on enhancement and optimization of 5G CU/DU stack to add support for the E2 interface messages based on based on O-RAN specifications, along with 3GPP release16 compliance.
